_In this position, you will be working directly with the Information System Security Manager to ensure compliance and protection of classified assets in accordance with Information Assurance (IA) regulations in regard to DoD RMF, NIST and other various government regulations. You will assist the security team with continuous monitoring and evaluation of controls to ensure proper implementation of these requirements._


**_Job Responsibilities:_**


+ _Auditing the security aspects and assess the security related factors of various operating systems (Windows, Linux and UNIX)._

+ _Assist the ISSM with the preparation of systems for accreditation in compliance of Risk Management Framework._

+ _Evaluate potential IA security risks through Continuous Monitoring_

+ _Ensuring configuration management (CM) for IS software, hardware and firmware is maintained and documented._

+ _Perform antivirus updates, SW patch installation, and conduct security self-reviews_

**Qualification:**


+ _Technical knowledge that will assist in rulings, approvals, interpretations, and acceptable deviations from regulations for IS compliance with various government agencies & regulations (RMF, STIGs - ICD 503, associated NIST publications)._

+ _Working knowledge of system functions, security policies, and technical security safeguards, operational security measures and assist in the development and implementation of IA Policies and Procedures._

+ _Must be_ _DoD 8570/8140 IAT/M II compliant or obtain certification within 6 months of hire._

+ _High level of personal motivation and initiative to learn and acquire new skills, and adapt seamlessly to an ever-changing security environment._

+ _Due to projects this position supports, the candidate must have an active DoD Collateral clearance._

+ _Possess good written, verbal, listening and presentation skills_

+ _Ability to work in a team as well as independently._

+ _Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time accordingly._

+ _Experience with configuring network equipment a plus._

**Education:**


+ _BS in Computer Science/ IS Management with 5+ in a Computer Security related field work experience is preferred._

+ _Working towards a Bachelor's with 7+ in a Computer Security related field work experience is acceptable._
